Essential Functions

  • Preparation and post general journal entries

  • Assist with financial statement preparation and review

  • Complete detailed month-end account reconciliations for complex trial balance accounts

  • Ensures the validity of all prepaid and accrual entries

  • Administrator for corporate credit cards and monthly posting to GL

  • Add new assets to accounting software for accumulated depreciation and expense calculation

  • Prepares and enters all journal entries necessary to properly reflect fixed asset additions, dispositions and depreciation in the general ledger

  • Reconciles the fixed asset system balances to the general ledger on a monthly basis and investigates and corrects all differences

  • Generates reports from fixed asset system as required for financial, tax and audit purposes

  • Acts as back-up for Accounts Payable

  • Investigate and resolve issues that related to A/P and inventories and help improve the current A/P process

  • Prepare and reconcile all unvouchered invoices

  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines

  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing and participate in random testing program

  • Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and are required to drive company vehicles

Supervisory Responsibility

May supervise 1 to 2 Accounting Assistants

Required Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent number of years of experience plus five years of accounting experience preferred
